I'm a big boy! My birthday was last week, and now I'm 3 bunnies old! We had so much cake last week, it was awesome! I spent the whole week on a sugar high. I'm just starting to come down now. On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy threw me a birthday party. It was terrific. So many people but luckily it was a nice day outside, so we had lots of toys and the pool and bubbles and everything. I got some cool presents. My friends know me pretty well. I scored lotsa Cars swag. Puzzles, PJs, a tshirt, a memory game. I also got other stuff that wasn't McQueen, but just as cool. More puzzles, and some game about slides and ladders. Not sure about that one yet. Gamma and Grampa even got me a bike! Here are some pictures of my party. Pay particular attention to the cool cake Mommy made me.

Mommy took off my MacQueen diaper yesterday and didn't put a new one on. I explained to her that I needed a new MacQueen, but she kept saying that I had to make peepee in the toilet now. Bah! Who needs that. And to prove my point, right after refusing to go in the toilet, I went on the floor. Twice. Hah! I'll show her.

I do like those stickers though. Not sure what to do about that yet.

I'm 2 today! At least, I think that's why Mommy kept singing that song to me over and over today. I had a great party on Saturday. My friends came over, there were balloons, and cupcakes, and hot dogs, and presents. It was neat!. Here're some pictures:

Here I am opening my awesome gifts. I've got great friends who know what I like, cuz so far everything I got has been way fun. The jungle animals are cool, the basketball net is smokin', the bath paints and stickers are a hoot, the singing dinosaur is great to dance to, the Higglytown Heroes are great, the clothes are neat and the stuffed animals are cuddly. I also love the books and can't wait for Daddy to put together my trike. And Mommy says the money will help with my edumacation, whatever that is.

I could totally get used to this birthday thing. Can we do it again tomorrow? Encore, 'core?

I was at Gramma and Buhpa's today, beatin' the heat in my pool on the patio. At one point, I got outta the pool and peed (I was naked, you see). Mommy filled the bucket with water and washed it away. I just watched in amazement. That was it! I peed over there (just a little), filled the bucket, and washed it away. Then I did it again over here. Then over there. It was great fun, and the patio is really clean too!

Individual Learning
He is doing great!! He is interested in almost anything and he can do so much. He is crazy about art activities and listening to books being read.

Social Learning
He is very social, loves friends, plays with them, hugs+kisses.. but this curious boy wants to try everything, even try to make them cry! He think "oops" when they cry, then he gives them hugs. Oh well!

Creative Learning
He is a genius at finding how to have fun! Friends like to follow Benjamin, 'cause he always does fun things. He enjoys and is very good at pretend play.

Prep Learning
Needs to work on his alphabet and concept of time. Do not worry... it's too early for this age!! But for sure he is interested in ABC's and numbers.

Other Interests
I love doing music activities when he is there, 'cause he really enjoys music! Playing outside? Well, he can play outside all day!

Behaviour
His language skills are much better! We can communicate with him quite well. Sometimes it's difficult for him to follow the rules, he'd rather follow his own interests.

Ok, well, I don't follow rules and I hurt my classmates but that just means I'm ready for high school.

One of my new favorite things to do is use the toilet. When I see mommy or daddy go, I insist that they let me go too. Usually, I just sit there, but I did actually poop twice already into the toilet. Mommy and Daddy got so excited they cheered and clapped. It was great fun!

I decided to play a little trick on Mommy the other day. I asked to go to the toilet ("Kaka"). She got me undressed, took off my diaper, and sat me on the seat. As usual, I tore off some toilet paper and threw it into the bowl. I didn't go though. When Mommy took me off, i ran away before she could put the diaper back on me. Where did I run, you ask? Into her bedroom. What did I spot right away? The empty laundry hamper. Well, in i climbed. What did I do? Peed.

I'm so very frustrated! I want something and Mom & Dad just can't figure out what it is. I keep telling them over and over again. What about the word "Teh" is it that they just can't understand? You know what's useful? Being able to refer to one's self. Like, if I wanted a drink from Daddy's cup, I used to point to the cup and say "uh! mm! uh!". Now all I do is look at the cup and say, "Beh-Beh?" If I think the point needs a little oomph, I'll point at my chest, too. Works like a charm.

Actually, all sorts of words are useful:

Getting Out Of The Meat Market

I think it's finally getting through. My parents have stopped giving me meat.

For the longest while I would throw/spit out/refuse in any way I knew how to eat meat. I would occasionally try it out, a nibble here, a nibble there. If mum and dad kept giving it to me, there must have been a reason for it, so I kept giving it a chance. No more!

You can feed me rice all day long. Pasta? I could eat my weight in macaroni. Potatoes, bread, whatever. Starches are tasty! Veggies are ok but you can keep piling fruit in front of me I will just keep on eating it. The best food ever is still yogurt. Yogurt with fruit is the pinnacle of human foods.

Though I might be vegetarian, I'm not vegan. Milk is a delicious drink, I much prefer it to juices. And I try to drink plenty of water. I also love eggs. Scrambled eggs are awesome.

So long, beef and pork and chicken and fish. Maybe one day we'll get along, maybe one day we will meat again.

It's been forever since I've posted. Not much happening. My favoritest thing in the world right now is my Ballon. It's round, it has a smiley face, it bounces. It's awesome! I want to play with it ALL THE TIME! I want when I eat, I want it when I sleep, I want it when I'm in the car. I'm just not sure where it is right now. The haggard looks on Mom and Dad's faces make me suspect they had something to do with it's disappearance, though. They think they're sneaky, but I am sneakier!

My other favorite thing is getting up at 5ish in the morning so I can have my milky and cuddle with Daddy or Mommy. Sometimes, I'm so excited to see them, I can't wait and call for them at 4:30. I can't understand what takes them so long to come and get me. I mean, who doesn't want milky and a cuddle at 5am?!? Seriously, sometimes I think I'm the smartest member of my family.

I'm not sure what's going on, but Mommy's tummy is getting rather....how shall I put this so I don't hurt her delicate feelings...round. I'm not sure if I should say something or not. I keep patting it suggestively, trying to show her that she might want to cut down on the ice cream, but all she keeps saying is, "Kiss the baby?" Uh, Mom? The word is tummy, not baby. Sheesh!

"Listen, we'll help you get set up. We'll get you on your feet." I pulled at my big toe. I repeated the gesture. And then a third time. "Don't give me the silent treatment, Ben." I grinned at him, squinting my eyes.

"I'll tell you what. We'll all move out. Together. But only for a little while. You will have to move out eventually. Happy? Did you get what you wanted?" I clapped my hands. "Good. I'm just getting over this terrible flu my dad gave me. Thanks, dad! I had this awful cough and I got real hot and I've been miserable for days. The only thing that makes me feel better is mommy.

Mom and Nana took me to this place yesterday. There were a bunch of babies there that I'd never seen before, and some big people, too. Mommy disappeared for a while, but Nana stayed with me. It was sorta fun, but after a while, I wanted Mommy. Good thing she showed up!

Then today, Mommy took me there AGAIN! I found a ball to play with right away, and that was fun for a few minutes, but then, when I looked around, Mommy was GONE!?! I thought I heard her say goodbye while I was checking out that ball, but I never thought she actually meant it! I called for her and called for her for what seemed like forever. Then this nice lady showed up and we sang some songs for a while. That was pretty cool. But when it was over, I was ready for Mom again. Where was she?!? I must have called out for her for a few hours before she showed up! And boy did I let her have it! We'll see if she pulls that stunt anytime soon. Hah! I showed her!

In just over a week, I'll have been outside of the womb for longer than I was inside it. It's colder out here but MUCH more colourful. You kinda get tired of being in the dark after a while.

What new tricks have I learned? Hmmmm....

I can free-stand. Kinda wobbly but I'm starting to get brave about it. Until I fall on my butt, then I bawl.
My babble has all sorts of interesting sounds and even inflections. I also found my lips and could probably play a trumpet if I had to. When I learn to talk, hoo boy. Good luck getting me to shut up.
I crawl like crazy. I can even follow mommy and daddy from room to room. I hear them trying to get away from me. No chance, suckers!
Still trying to figure out how to pick up a Cheerio. I sometimes hold it in my fist and chew on my knuckles but I'm getting there.
Sometimes I do something bad and mommy or daddy yell at me. It makes me feel terrible. I hate getting yelled at. It's not my fault! I'm sorry! Waaaah! (Heh, this routine makes 'em squirm...)
This clapping thing intrigues me. Must keep practising. Day and night.

Sleeping. Who needs it?

Mommy's singing. Nothing beats your own private concert.

Mom and Dad have been trying to get me to sleep on my own for the last couple of weeks. Mom even stopped sleeping with me in the mornings. I've made it loud and clear that I disapprove of this. Here's how I'm goona win this war:

Step 1) Wear down the parents in the middle of the night with my loud piercing scream. Keep it up at all costs for at least 30-90 min.

Step 2) While performing Step 1, make sure you're standing and rattling the crib bars. Makes more noise that way, and you get better range out of the lungs.

Step 3) Start pooping your diaper in the middle of the night. They have to pick you up if they have to change you.

Step 4) When they put you down the fist time, set your clock. Wake up every 45-60 min. to do Step 1 and 2.

I've been doing this for just about a week, and it's working. Mommy came into bed with me last night. I've won this battle! The war is almost done!

Mwahahahaha!
