Thank you, Santa!

So, who's this Santa guy, anyway? And why is there a big tree standing in the middle of the house? These last few days (seems like weeks) have been a little crazy. We've been goin' here, and goin' there. People have been coming over. It's been nuts! But the best part (besides all the cuddles, and the fact that Daddy's been around for the last week) are the presents! I got a bunch of stuff. People must like. They really like me! So, to all those who gave me presents, thanks bunches! Here's what I go t (pics will be included if I have some):

From Ella, I got nifty blocks (here we are playing with them):

From Simon, I got this snazzy PJ:

From Flora I got a book. Mommy reads it to me in a wierd language. She says it's French and I'll understand it one day. I don't care, cuz I get kisses when she reads it to me.

From Aunty Clare and Uncle Alex, who I've never met cuz they live far, I got this designer original, and a T-shirt:

From Uncle Derek, I already got a great blanket to cover me when Mom takes me around in the pouch.

From Aunty Veda, I got a doggy toy that talks to me.

From Nana, I got my carseat (but I've been using that for a few weeks now) and this cool set of keys. They sing at me, and beep and stuff. I picked them out myself:From Grandma and Grandpa, I got this pile o' stuff. Look at all those books! The pile is almost as tall as me!

From Aunty Karen, Uncle Sonny and Uncle Peter, I got this cool new shirt. They made me the Voodoo Day mascot this year. For those of you who don't know what Voodoo Day is, it's when Voodoo Man shows up with his briefcase and musical hand and gives out presents, and we have Voodoo Fondue. It's a few days before Christmas, right before Uncle Peter leaves to go visit his parents. I'm a big bad voodoo daddy:

From Mom and Dad, I got this stuff. The best part is what I'm sitting in: a shiny new sled! I can't wait to use it!

Some of those gifts were from Santa. Do I know him? Whoever you are, you rock! Mom and Dad keep talking about next year. Next year?!? We get to do this again? Neat!

Vampire Baby

In the comments of the previous post, Chris requested "vampire pictures". Now this requires a little explaining. You see, I've got a case of thrush. It's a common oral infection among us infants. To treat it, mommy and daddy apply Gentian Violet to the inside of my mouth with a cotton swab, a common remedy. This, unfortunately, also makes my lips, tongue, and (if they miss) the area around my mouth purpley. It makes me look very "goth" or, like a vampire.

So here's a picture of my vampire face:

I have to admit that it's not very vampire-y. Dad showed me a little bit of Photoshop so I came up with this:

Now that's more like it!

Been A While

Sorry, I've been busy these past few days. Here's a recent pic of me to tide you over...

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Mommy and Grandma dragged me around to all these places yesterday. Everywhere we went, we got more stuff. The car was so full, mommy almost couldn't see out the windows. I wonder what all those packages are for? One thing that was cool was that I got to meet this really groovy guy. He was dressed all in red and had a soft white beard. His lap was comfy. He had a friend with pointy ears who took our picture for us. Here, I'll show you:

He asked me what i wanted for Christmas. I just kinda stared at him. What's Christmas?

I also finally got to meet Uncle Derek. Daddy kept telling me about him, but I'd never met him before. He's sooo cool! Mommy was sick for a few days, so he helped take care of me. I can bounce as long as I like with him, and he doesn't seem to get tired! Well, maybe he does...

What else is new....? Hmmm....Everytime Mommy and I go out now, she keeps getting me all dressed up in these really hot, uncomfortable clothes. I hate it. I keep trying to tell her how much I hate it, but she just ignores me, even when I talk louder. I mean, wouldn't you be upset if you looked like this? And with all the pretty white stuff on the ground, I'd like to go outside and see it some more, but not if I keep having to wear this:

Oh yeah, and the best new thing is that I'm starting to eat real food! W00t! I've been watching Mommy and Daddy eating for so long, they finally let me try. It's a little bland, but playing with the spoon is fun! And it means that when I suck on my hand, my fingers taste like something. But then, when I'm done, Mommy goes and washes me all up. Doesn't she know I'll lick it all up myself? Silly Mommy! But it sure is nummy.

I think that's it. It's been a big couple of weeks. Things should definitely calm down now. I mean, what else could possibly happen in the next few weeks, right?

Up To Date

What's new with me... Hmmm.

Well, I like to play with the rubber ducky in the bath. He always floats away from me and I like to chase him around. Oh, I like to do squats. Now that I can lock my knees when mommy or daddy hold me up, I love to push myself up and down. That is super fun!

My teeth are killing me. Big time. The amount of saliva coming out of my mouth is pretty impressive. Dad says that once these bottom two are in, that should be it. I hope so!

I watched Star Wars for the first time last night. Well, the first half. I can only go without playing with my toys for so long.

I have to go. I need to see if my toys will fit in my mouth today.

The Great Pumkin

Here's me and mom!

Trick or Treat!

Mommy and I did the wierdest thing last night. First, we spent the afternoon at Ella's along with Simon. It was fun. That Ella chick is a real firecracker! Simon's cool too. We spent some time rolling around the play mat. They've got this cool thing that makes pretty noises when I smack it. It was fun. Then Simon and Ella's daddies came home. My daddy didn't come. He needed to be somewhere else. Then the mommies made the three of us put on the goofy outfits. Mine was all orange with a funny face on the front. Simon's looked like mine, except his was cooler cuz he had a nifty hat! Ella's looked like a monkey. And she had this great yellow banana to play with too!

Then everyone started taking pictures. Smile here, smile there. C'mon already! I'm roasting in this outfit, Ma! I'll put up some pictures as soon as I get them. So we went outside and started walking around, going to these strange houses. Mommy would ring the doorbell, and say "Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! If you don't, I don't care, I'll pull down your underwear!" Simon's mom sang something that was almost the same, except she said, ""Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! Not too big, not too small, just the size of Montreal!" Mommy's song was better ;p

Then the strange people would give us stuff. Mom couldn't believe all the stuff we got. My little bag was so full, she had to fill up her pockets, too. I don't get it though. What am I supposed to do with all that stuff? None of it is Mommy's boobie, so what was the point?

Daddy seemed excited when we got home though.

180

Last night, I rolled over for the first time. I was sitting on my tummy and then, after a bit of wiggling, I flipped myself onto my back. Not too shabby.

I'm still working up to my next big trick: sitting up!

Achoo!

*sniff* *cough* *snort*

You'll have to excuse me this week for my lack of blogging. I've come down with a little cold.

It really makes it tough to eat when your nose is blocked. Which makes you hungry. Which can make a person cranky. Doubly so when you were cranky to begin with. What to do?

*cough* *sniff*

Gettin' Pruney

Yawn!

I'm always hearing mum and dad yawning and forever complaining about how tired they are. They're so lazy! They always want to sleep more than 4 hours in a row! Incredible! How they get things done, I have no clue. I constantly have to wake mommy up at night just to feed me. They'd be negligent parents if it wasn't for my nagging.

One good thing has come out of all this, I picked up one of their cool habits. Whenever I yawn, I let out a great big sigh, just like mum and dad do. It makes me sound like I had a rough time. Speaking of which, I gotta go. Today's the day I can put my whole arm in my mouth up to the elbow! I can just feel it! I won't give up!

Just a little tongue in cheek...

My hands are tasty. I could suck them for hours. Nothing tastes better, except maybe mommy-milk. If I put most of my hand in my mouth, I can juuuust about grab my tongue. See, watch...

*Gag..cough...cough...*

Stop, Listen, What's That Sound?

I was busy the other day licking the back of my hand when I let out a big breath and I heard something. I did it again and I heard another sound. It sounded like "uuuhhh". I moved my mouth a bit and then I heard "aah".

Whoa. I can make sounds with my mouth like Mum and Dad! Sometimes, when you talk to me, I make sounds back. Most of the time I'm not really interested because, well, my fingers taste AWESOME! Seriously, don't tell anyone, but my fingers taste like the best food ever. Ok, so I've only ever tasted milk, bathwater and my hand, but it still tastes great. Anyways, if you start making sounds to me, I might make sounds right back. So far I've got "uh", "ooh", "huh", and "aah" in my vocabulary. My dad says I certainly sound like a primate. I think that means I'm number one!
