Imprisoned

First, you gotta chew your way out.

Then, when they catch you, you gotta fight!

I don't feeeeeel goood!

I'b sick. By nose is stuffed up and yesterday by tubby was yucky. I was playing at my friend's house, when all of a sudden by lunch was coming back outta by bouth. It wasn't fun! Mommy cleaned me up and took me home, but I was sick again in the car, and then twice bore when I got hobe. One time was all ove Mommy. She wasn't too happy about that. I'b sorry, Mommy! I couldn't help it.

Mommy and Daddy cuddled me all evening, and Mommy slept with me last night. I feel better so far this borning, but by nose is still stuffy.

And to top it all off, my mouth has been sore the last week or so. Really sore. Now I have this hard, kinda sharp bump in the front. I don't know what the heck it is. I hope it goes away soon!

Whee!

My daddy plays this game with me where he throws the end of a blanket over my head and says, "Where's Benjamin?" That's when I find my way out from under the blanket and he says, "There you are!" I love that game.

Today, though, when dad started playing Where's Benjamin with me, I thought I'd throw in a twist. After a the first couple times I got out from underneath, I put the blanket back over my head on my own and waited for daddy to ask "Where's Benjamin?" Then I popped out and gave him a big smile!

Yay games!

Still Stuck With These Parents

Uncle Derek took me out of the crib so he could get a good look at me. I tried to get him to take me with him when goes back to South Korea in a couple weeks but he says I don't fit in his luggage.

Whatever! He just doesn't like my fashion sense. I'm just not cool enough for him...

Where Are Mum And Dad?

So here I am in my crib, as I have been for the last two weeks. I was abandoned in here by my parents as they are downstairs playing video games. It's not so bad. I've been changing myself with the supply of diapers they left in here. There's a large bag of dog food with a hole torn in it, presumably so I can eat the contents (no thanks!). And top to it off, there appears to be a giant hamster-cage water bottle with a metal spout duct-taped between the bars of my crib. I thought about calling the authorities (they left me the cellphone and their credit card; I've been ordering pizzas) but I figure this can't last much longer. Sometimes I'll see one of them pass in the hall mumbling something about the "Monster Arena" or "Alchemy Pot"... It all has to do with this Dragon Quest 8 game they've been playing since the holidays. I hope they beat it soon. I can't throw the dirty diapers very far.

Anyways, my list of skills is growing. I can now stay seated on my own, though I can't get myself in that position yet. My babble is getting more complicated and expressive. I can totally follow things that leave my field of vision and my mimic abilities are beginning to kick in. I eat lots of solids now, veggies, fruits, cereals. Meat hasn't gone down so well, but that's ok. Dad says he wouldn't eat it either since it looks like caulking material.

Ah well, now if only I could get out of this accursed cage. I'm running out of Mars bars.

Thank you, Santa!

So, who's this Santa guy, anyway? And why is there a big tree standing in the middle of the house? These last few days (seems like weeks) have been a little crazy. We've been goin' here, and goin' there. People have been coming over. It's been nuts! But the best part (besides all the cuddles, and the fact that Daddy's been around for the last week) are the presents! I got a bunch of stuff. People must like. They really like me! So, to all those who gave me presents, thanks bunches! Here's what I go t (pics will be included if I have some):

From Ella, I got nifty blocks (here we are playing with them):

From Simon, I got this snazzy PJ:

From Flora I got a book. Mommy reads it to me in a wierd language. She says it's French and I'll understand it one day. I don't care, cuz I get kisses when she reads it to me.

From Aunty Clare and Uncle Alex, who I've never met cuz they live far, I got this designer original, and a T-shirt:

From Uncle Derek, I already got a great blanket to cover me when Mom takes me around in the pouch.

From Aunty Veda, I got a doggy toy that talks to me.

From Nana, I got my carseat (but I've been using that for a few weeks now) and this cool set of keys. They sing at me, and beep and stuff. I picked them out myself:From Grandma and Grandpa, I got this pile o' stuff. Look at all those books! The pile is almost as tall as me!

From Aunty Karen, Uncle Sonny and Uncle Peter, I got this cool new shirt. They made me the Voodoo Day mascot this year. For those of you who don't know what Voodoo Day is, it's when Voodoo Man shows up with his briefcase and musical hand and gives out presents, and we have Voodoo Fondue. It's a few days before Christmas, right before Uncle Peter leaves to go visit his parents. I'm a big bad voodoo daddy:

From Mom and Dad, I got this stuff. The best part is what I'm sitting in: a shiny new sled! I can't wait to use it!

Some of those gifts were from Santa. Do I know him? Whoever you are, you rock! Mom and Dad keep talking about next year. Next year?!? We get to do this again? Neat!

Vampire Baby

In the comments of the previous post, Chris requested "vampire pictures". Now this requires a little explaining. You see, I've got a case of thrush. It's a common oral infection among us infants. To treat it, mommy and daddy apply Gentian Violet to the inside of my mouth with a cotton swab, a common remedy. This, unfortunately, also makes my lips, tongue, and (if they miss) the area around my mouth purpley. It makes me look very "goth" or, like a vampire.

So here's a picture of my vampire face:

I have to admit that it's not very vampire-y. Dad showed me a little bit of Photoshop so I came up with this:

Now that's more like it!
